    These immersive workshops encourage students to develop their writing skills through a variety of genres and creative approaches. The instructor will work closely with students as they explore poetic expression, learn effective revision strategies, and use creative writing to generate compelling personal narratives, craft their own fairy tale or post-apocalyptic story, and cultivate a stronger voice and writing process.

    Dr. Michele Parker Randall has a background in Technical and Creative Writing & Interdisciplinary Studies, but her main focus and scholarship is in Poetry. She teaches The Power of Poetry (how and where poetry connects), Intro to Writing Poetry, The Personal Essay, Fairy Tales, and a Space-Western based FSEM. She is currently finishing revisions on her second book, a collection of poems. Her work has been named a finalist, semi-finalist, or honorable mention multiple times. Outside of Stetson she helps run a community writing group in the city of Sanford, has taught poetry for a NAMI peer group, and is certified in mental health first aid for youth.
